What a fantastic night we had last night. :)
Yesterday, Kyle's sister flew in from Dallas to spend a week with us (yay!). We decided to celebrate her arrival by taking her, and our friend Karen, to a sox game. Karen, only hours prior, finished her last college exam and so, she also had earned a night off. So, after we were all off work, we left Abs with Beckah for the evening and we headed out to get some pre-game food.
45 wings, 2 side salads, and a few drinks later, we were ready to head to the game. The weather was actually really great for a game - it was threatening rain, but didn't rain on us. A nice cool evening,
heading to the game
I love going to Fenway. There is so much history there and so many traditions. I was so excited to have an evening out and not have to worry about anything except enjoying time with some of my favorite K-named peeps.
We all enjoyed the ball game atmosphere. We had hot dogs (monstah dogs, to be specific) and peanuts and cheered on the home team and booed the away team just like good little sox fans should.
The game ended up being tied up until the 8th inning when we hit a grand slam home run to seal the deal on our win. This was right after we all sang Sweet Caroline (by far, my favorite part of the game!) and the whole stadium was alive. It was great.
go sox!
I even got a victory kiss from somebody I like ;-)
We eventually filed out of Fenway and made our way back home where we all promptly crashed. It was such a fun night - and a much needed break for all of us. It was, what's the word?....rejuvenating.
Oh- and big thanks to Beckah for babysitting for us - and basically spending ALL day with Abs yesterday! We are so lucky to have her in our lives. :)
And just because - here's a (poorly shot) video of everyone singing Sweet Caroline.
