I was hoping to have some pictures to go along with this post, but I forgot to upload them...so maybe I'll add them later. Either way, we had a nice weekend, although tiring.
On Saturday, we got up early and headed to a town about 45 mins north of us to attend a Taekwondo tournament. Since Abby has joined us, we have woefully been unable to train - and we both miss it terribly. But, it is just not realistic with the distance to the school and Abby's bedtime. We did not compete, obviously, but Kyle volunteered his judging services while I baby wrangled. Even though we've been out of the loop, it was really nice to see so many familiar faces. We had so so so many people comment that they were glad to see us and "my my, look at how she's grown" The last time most of these people saw Abby, she was about 3 months old.
It was good to be back in that setting - it felt right. I am hoping that we can work out some sort of schedule that will allow us to train more frequently (ie: at all) We're thinking about trying to make Saturday morning classes...so, we'll see how that works out.
Anyway, back to the tournament. We got there pretty early and for some reason, Governor Patrick decided to stop by. They weren't expecting him, but I suppose he was in the area and decided to see what was going on. So, while the high ranks in the region were taking a few pictures with the big man, Abby was making her way over to say hi. Gov. Patrick said hi to Abs and made some comment about how she was an awfully small competitor. Abby smiled and waved bye-bye to him...which was cute. So, that was Abby's first run in with the Governor.
As the tournament began to get underway, Abby was more in the way. We played outside and explored around the school, but eventually it was nap time and we were both tired. I decided to take her and drive down to a mall we've never been to. Abby fell asleep in the car and when she woke up, we went mall walking. The best part...and the reason for going to the mall at all...was that it is home to one of the 2 Chick-Fil-A spots in the state. Yup - there are only 2. So, that was pretty exciting.

After some yummy food, Abs played in the play area for a long time before we strolled around the mall exploring all the stores and wasting time until the tournament was over. It was fun...and tiring.
We picked up Kyle several hours later. The tournament wasn't over yet, but we had an appointment to go see some houses with our real estate agent. So off we went. We looked at 2 houses. On paper, they both have everything we're looking for, but are in a neighborhood that we're unfamiliar with (although it is supposed to be a nice one). Long story short, the first house was great - couldn't find anything wrong with it and the second house was just odd....lots of weird decor

I don't know where we stand on the issue. I think we're both hesitant to make such a big purchase in an area we don't know as well - and an area that is less convenient (although not impossible) for Kyle to access public transit. But, we'll see. We're in no rush. Either way, it was good to see a few more places that help us gauge what we like and want and where our priorities are.
A quick dinner, putting abby to bed, and renting a movie later - that was the end of Saturday...and we were worn out.
Therefore, Sunday was a complete and utter slug day for us both. Well, kinda. We were both exhausted. I still managed to clean the house, organize closets, do the laundry, cook a nice lunch, do the dishes, go to the store, take out the trash, do some actual work-related work and take care of the child. Although - I did it with heavy eyes all day. We just settled down to watch some TV last night and called it a day.
So, we had a good mix of busy and lazy this weekend. And now it's monday. This week is busy - but not crazy like last week...just normal busy. I have a lot of writing to do still. But, after this week, we get April Vacation...so, I'll be counting down for that.
I hope everyone else has an excellent Monday.

Isn't a "Cute Abby" anything redundant? I mean if you look up cute in Websters, there's an 8 x 10 glossy of her! Love you.
