Easter 2010

I believe this is the fourth (?) Easter post I've put up in the last two days. But, there's just too much to fit into one post.

Our Easter started with a bang. We all woke up to find that the Easter bunny had found us yet again. We were all impressed with how well he treated us this year, he must have known that it was a special year since it was Abby's first year to participate.

Easter goodies

Abby came out of her room and stopped in her tracks to look at the Easter surprise. :) She then made her way over to the bowl of treats (fruit loops and yogurt bites). Those took up her attention for a while, but eventually she was ready to explore the rest of things.

For the sake of memory. Abby's basket included: a chocolate bunny, veggie-tales candy, a dress and 2 outfits, a razorback football, a new dinner plate, ABC flash cards, Bible coloring book and crayons, a new zebra bath puff, and a puzzle with her name on it...in addition to several plastic eggs filled with cereal and puffs.

and she kept going back for more...

So, for whatever reason, Abby was a pure terror for the next hour. She was throwing fits if I so much as left her line of vision or stood more than 2 ft away from her. It was odd and disconcerting since we were hoping to have a nice calm baby to take to church. After a quick breakfast, we headed to church. We didn't get there in time to get a seat, but that is just as well since we spent the whole service chasing Abby around anyway. She was actually pretty good - again, only screaming/crying when we restrained her from walking where she wanted to walk. Abby mostly entertained the other standing-room-only crowd around us.

I forgot my camera at home, so we didn't get any real Easter church pictures. Oh well.

We headed home and put Abby down for a nap and waited for our friend Karen to come meet us for lunch. Since it was just the few of us, we just headed to Cheesecake Factory for an easy and yummy lunch before going to the park for pictures. Karen was so kind as to take several of me and Kyle and Abby - which is so rare anyway. Here are a few of my favorites.

We came home and video chatted with Kyle's family for a while before it was time for dinner and putting Abs to bed. She was a tired puppy - its been a great, but long, day for us all.

All in all, I'm pleased with the way this Easter turned out. And most of all, I feel so blessed that I got to share every moment with my own little family here in our own little corner of the world. Happy Easter everyone, I hope it was filled with happiness!
